The 2021 version of the Love Your Hospital Radio-Thon had a new look and sound but the same sweet result.
The ninth edition of the 12-hour fundraiser on Country 94 and 97.3 The Wave for the Saint John Regional Hospital raised $235,245 on Thursday.
All of the proceeds support the $12-million campaign to expand Clinic 1. The ambulatory clinic serves more than 40,000 patients from Atlantic Canada every year and that number is expected to grow to 45,000 in the near future.
The Radio-Thon featured interviews with health care professionals and real-life testimonials from the Regional hospital’s patients.
Dr. Sohrab Lutchmedial is an interventional cardiologist who works in the New Brunswick Heart Centre.
He was asked why he chose to work at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
“It’s a tremendous place to work because it offers me the best of many worlds. I get to work alongside a terrific team of really well-trained professionals. I get to work in an environment where we really practice cutting-edge medicine. The kind of stuff that is only practiced in a few hospitals across the country,” Dr. Lutchmedial said.
Thanks to everyone who made the 9th annual Love Your Hospital Radio-Thon a tremendous success! The final total!~Marky B.#thankyou #community #give #yourhospital #sjrhfoundation
