New Brunswick reported two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Boxing Day.
Public Health says one case involves someone in their 60s in the Moncton region (Zone 1) while the other is someone in their 20s in the Miramichi region (Zone 7).
Both cases are related to travel and are said to be self-isolating.
Seven more people have recovered from the virus, bringing the number of known active cases down to 38.
Eleven of the active cases are in the Fredericton region (Zone 3), 10 are in the Edmundston region (Zone 4) and nine are in the Moncton region (Zone 1).
There are three active cases in the Saint John region (Zone 2), two each in the Bathurst (Zone 6) and Miramichi (Zone 7) regions, and one in the Campbellton region (Zone 5).
One person is currently hospitalized in intensive care.
Exposure Notifications
Public Health says it has identified a positive case in a traveller who may have been infectious on three Air Canada flights on Dec. 19 and 20.
- Air Canada Flight 8476 – from Grande Prairie to Calgary, arrived at 4:39 p.m.
- Air Canada Flight 150 – from Calgary to Toronto to, arrived at 11:20 p.m.
- Air Canada Flight 8910– from Toronto to Moncton, arrived at 11:23 a.m.
Passengers on those flights should continue to follow the directives given to them during the travel registration process and when they entered New Brunswick.
