A 46-year-old man is facing several charges after two explosions rocked a northern Nova Scotia town this week.
Brian Stephen MacDonald of Amherst is charged with three offences, including making an explosive device and detonating an improvised explosive device with the intent to cause an explosion.
The Amherst Police Department said the first explosion was reported on Monday evening while the second took place in the town early Wednesday morning.
In both cases, police say officers found debris from a “detonated device.”
Officers also found an explosive device at a nearby park which had not detonated.
Police say no one was hurt in any of the incidents and there was minimal property damage.
MacDonald was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court next week for a bail hearing.
