Quispamsis residents can take part in a new holiday event meant to try and fill the void left by much-loved holiday traditions cancelled this year due to the pandemic.
The Quispamsis Christmas Quest gives residents an opportunity to check out holiday light displays in the town.
Spokesperson Aaron Kennedy says any home or business owner channeling their “inner Clark Griswold” can participate by registering their property.
“They can send an email to mlucas@quispamsis.ca. We are populating a map. Starting on December 19th, folks can have that map at their disposal and they can drive around Quispamsis and see all the displays that have been registered,” Kennedy said.
Kennedy said they are just trying to shine some light over the holidays and lift everyone’s spirits.
“Two of our most popular activities and events were cancelled this year that being the Santa Claus Parade and the tree-lighting ceremony. Both of which attract thousands of KV residents so, we came up with this idea for the Christmas Quest,” Kennedy said.
The Fundy Wellness Network donated five $100 Sobeys gift cards for the event for the winners in categories like Best Commercial, Best Audio, Best Audio, Best Lighting and Best Christmas Spirit.
Home and business owners who want to register their homes for free need to do so by Tuesday, December 15th.
Kennedy said a Facebook post on the event is the “most shared and commented on post they have ever had.”
Quispamsis Christmas Quest will soon be ready for viewing. This year, beginning on Dec. 19, you and your family/bubble…
