The Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association has cancelled all winter semester competitions and championships due to the pandemic.
But member schools do have the option of organizing their own competitions, provided they follow Public Health guidelines.
Michael Eagles, president of the association, said each sport will require approved return-to-play plans.
The decision by the ACAA, which was announced Wednesday, comes a week after Atlantic University Sport made a similar call for their schools.
The association is made up of 10 member schools from across the Maritimes, including the University of New Brunswick, St. Thomas University, Mount Allison University, and Crandall University.
