As we slip into November and get ready for Xmas and the holiday season we will be bombarded with sale after sale after sale. Black Friday is on the way along with cyber Monday and all kinds of great bargains? I have always wanted to price some products before these big sales began to actually see what the actual savings are but of course I never do. My Mom truly believed that some stores raise prices a few weeks before a sale , then drop them down to their regular price in time for the sale to fool you into thinking you are saving money.
Of course, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are just the beginning. ( I have seen Black Friday deals already)If you are an online shopper you will find dozens and dozens of deals in you r emails. If you watch any amount of network TV the Xmas commercials will be non stop, flyers in your driveway and adds in the paper. In recent years we have had to contend with a new trend with things like “The Boxing Day Sale before Boxing Day”. This usually happens at least a few weeks before the real Boxing Day. And to top it all off no Sears Wish Book, it kept people especially kids busy for hours and we didn’t need a Boxing dale sale before boxing day we were quite happy waiting for the actual sale day.
Now the one new trend most of us embrace is buying local. When we buy local, we boost our local economy the money stays here and, in most cases, we get a superior product. The pandemic has cancelled a number of craft sales but look on line and you can find lots of local products to buy. No matter how you go about it happy shopping and hopefully you can find a box or two for new clothes you have bought for gifts.
