Public Health is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 in New Brunswick today.
Two are individuals in their 70’s in the Fredericton region and are related to international travel.
The other is in their 60’s in the Campbellton region, and contact tracing is underway.
This brings the number of active cases to 60, with four who are currently in hospital.
Six people with underlying conditions, including COVID-19, have died in New Brunswick.
Meantime, New Brunswick’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Jennifer Russell paid a visit to the Campbellton region recently to offer her support.
She was meeting with Mayors, government representatives and others in the region, “Popped in for a visit at the testing centre at the arena and said hello to the staff and thanked them for all of their hard work. It is definitely a concerted effort. Keep Campbellton and Dalhousie and Zone 5 in your thoughts and prayers and we are going to try and get this under control as fast as we possibly can.”
Zone 5, the Campbellton region remains at the orange level of the New Brunswick COVID-19 recovery plan.
