None of the Atlantic provinces had any new COVID-19 cases to report today.
In New Brunswick, another person has recovered and there are 89 active cases.
Five individuals in the province are in hospital, one of which is in intensive care.
Chief medical officer of health, Dr. Jennifer Russell says although we have no new cases today, we must remember that this virus is still present in New Brunswick.
“Self-isolation is our best tool in shortening the duration of these outbreaks. We need to maintain physical distancing, practice good hygiene and support each other as we work our way through this pandemic together,” she says.
For now, the Moncton and Campbellton regions remain in the orange level of recovery while the rest are in the yellow level.
The province also provided an update on two schools in zone 5, where cases of the virus were identified last week.
At Dalhousie Regional High School, students in Grades 9 through 12 have resumed in-class learning. Students and staff from Grade 6 through Grade 8 will engage in virtual learning until Oct. 22nd and staff will contact affected families with more information.
Students at Académie Notre-Dame are learning from home until Oct. 16. Next week, they will resume in-class learning on a staggered schedule. Families will be contacted by school staff with more information, including the schedule for the staggered re-entry.
Elsewhere in the bubble, there are 3 active cases in Nova Scotia, 3 in PEI and Newfoundland and Labrador have 8.
