Many Canadians are concerned about the impact the pandemic is having on local businesses, according to new research by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.
The poll found that four in five are worried their favourite local businesses may shut down.
The latest bi-weekly report shows that only 26 per cent are making normal sales.
As a result, CFIB president Dan Kelly says Canada may lose 158,000 small businesses before the end of the pandemic.
Ninety-five per cent of those who took part in the survey believe supporting small businesses is key to keeping our economy healthy.
CFIB is encouraging Canadians to get involved in helping small businesses survive by shopping at local, independent businesses.
