Two passionate Saint Johners are doing their part to remember the sacrifices of local veterans.
Retired Lieutenant Bernard Cormier and historian Harold Wright post veteran profiles every day leading up to Remembrance Day.
For the project’s third year, they have focused on the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
Wright explained why he thinks the ‘We Will Remember Them’ project is important.
“Just so that Saint Johners and everyone that reads it realizes that every veteran has a story. Some veteran’s stories have been better preserved than others but every veteran deserves to be remembered,” Wright said.
Wright teased the number one veteran on this year’s list has the “most amazing” story he’s ever come across.
“A Saint John man who passed away just a week or so ago. We’re going to do something special for him. We’re going to have a lot more photographs and stories. We have video links of him,” Wright said.
