New Brunswick’s two major political parties will hold a series of nomination conventions Thursday.
The Liberals will nominate their candidates for Saint Croix, Gagetown-Petitcodiac and Carleton.
Officials say the event will be held virtually at 6 p.m. since the nominations are not contested.
The candidates are John Gardner for Saint Croix, John Urquhart for Gagetown-Petitcodiac, and Theresa Blackburn for Carleton.
The Liberals have already nominated candidates in four other ridings, including Fredericton North (Stephen Horsman), Fredericton West-Hanwell (Chris Duffie), Moncton East (Monique LeBlanc) and Restigouche-Chaleur (Daniel Guitard).
Meanwhile, the Progressive Conservatives will nominate candidates for four ridings: Saint John East, Saint John Lancaster, Portland-Simonds and Kings Centre.
The nomination convention will take place at the Irving Oil Field House starting at 6 p.m.
Like the Liberals, the PCs have already nominated candidates in several ridings, including Premier Blaine Higgs in his riding of Quispamsis.
The Green Party has six nominated candidates to date, including Megan Mitton and leader David Coon.
The People’s Alliance of New Brunswick and the NDP do not have any nominated candidates listed on their website.
