If the pandemic has deterred your decision to sell your home, you might want to reconsider.
Owner of RE/MAX Avante Roger Leblanc says Realtors are taking all of the precautions necessary to ensure the safety of their clients. They are using masks, gloves, and hand sanitizers, and following guidelines handed down from the province..
They are also offering virtual tours of homes instead of a public open house, if needed.
Leblanc says the market is based on supply and demand, and right now there aren’t many homes up for sale, and that’s good news for the sellers.
“Houses don’t stay on the market very long if they are priced right. We are seeing multiple offers getting over asking. It is a good market for sellers, but it’s a little harder for buyers. They have to be ready, and have their finances in order, ” Leblanc says.
If selling your home was something you had considered before COVID-19, Leblanc says chances are it will sell now, as long as it is priced right, “If you really want to sell your house and it was something you had on the market a long time ago and it wouldn’t go, it will sell now. Just get it priced right. You will sell it for a good price.”
Leblanc says if you find what you consider to be the perfect home, you’ll want to act fast, because they don’t stay on the market long.
He adds, “The homes that are selling are receiving some multiple offers or the average price is higher right now because there is no inventory. I guess supply and demand determines what you are going to get. The Board average is over 96 per cent of the asking price.”
