Most of the court dockets in the province are back to full capacity.
Due to COVID-19 measures, the courts were reduced until there were solutions.
Justice Minister and Attorney General Andrea Anderson-Mason said the justice system has been working hard behind the scenes.
“Court hearings can contain many variables and complications,” said Anderson-Mason.
“We will continue to work with the judiciary and court participants to ensure that we can provide solutions deemed appropriate for matters to proceed. Since the courts are an essential component of our society, we must make adjustments and accommodations where possible to operate in this environment.”
Alternative options for attending court are still available and will remain in place.
At the courts themselves, there are physical distancing requirements to ensure safety of participants.
Presiding judges may limit access to the courtroom as appropriate.
Anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 are asked not to attend the courthouse for any reason.
