Bathurst RCMP have arrested a 47-year-old man for operating a lawnmower while under the influence.
On Friday evening, police responded to a report of an impaired man driving a lawn tractor at a residence on Chamberlain Settlement Road.
Police say the driver was showing signs of impairment and arrested at the scene.
Further investigation, including breath samples, indicated he had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
The man was later released and is scheduled to appear in Bathurst Provincial Court on August 31st.
Sgt. Marc Tremblay says operating any motor vehicle, vessel or aircraft while under the influence is against the law, even on private property.
