There are currently eight active cases of COVID-19 in New Brunswick.
The province’s chief medical officer of health announced two new cases today.
Dr. Jennifer Russell says all of the cases are in Zone 5 (Campbellton area).
She says the one of the individuals is a health care worker in their 30s who works at a nursing home, the other is an elderly person in their 60s.
She says the contact tracing team is working hard to make sure their notify and test anyone who has been in contact with confirmed cases.
Dr. Russell says two cases are currently in intensive care, but that she is told they are stable at the moment.
She says all cases are related to the confirmed travel-related case and that they are continuing to investigate the incident.
Dr. Russell says while you may not be in the zone where the outbreak is, you need to remain vigilant in reducing the spread by following public health guidelines.
