The Fundy Regional Service Commission is gradually re-opening its recycling and compost sorting operations.
Officials once again started sorting curbside recycling and recyclables brought to the facility this week.
For the past few weeks, all recyclables had been sent directly to the landfill because of worker safety concerns.
The recycling depots will be opened gradually starting next Monday, with the goal of all depots being open by June 6.
“We understand many people have stockpiled recycling. We appreciate your patience as we resume operations and deal with high volumes of material,” said the commission in a news release.
Compost and the on-site household hazardous waste and electronics drop-off resumed operations last week.
Crane Mountain Landfill will continue to operate from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
The site will remain closed on Saturdays and cash will not be accepted at this time.
