Top hockey prospect Peter Reynolds has signed with the Saint John Sea Dogs.
Reynolds was ranked third overall in the 2019 QMJHL Draft and was selected by the Sea Dogs 21st overall.
The Fredericton native was previously committed to Boston College in the NCAA.
Reynolds played the 2019-20 season for Chilliwack in the British Columbia Hockey League, where he led all 16-year-olds in scoring with 14 goals and 33 assists in 53 games.
“I am really excited to come home and be close to my family. I am also extremely excited to play for such a world class organization in my backyard,” said Reynolds in a release.
Trevor Georgie, president and general manager of the Sea Dogs, said he believes Reynolds will be an important part of the team’s core.
Georgie, who has gotten to know Reynolds and his family over the past year, said he is a humble but remarkably driven person.
“What became abundantly clear (to me) is that he wants to excel at whatever he does. Now he wants to win at the highest level, here in the CHL with our group,” said Georgie.
