A Saint John woman will receive an award in April to recognize the work she’s done early in her career.
Raha Mosca is the recipient of the 2019 CPA New Brunswick Emerging Leader Award.
“I’m very thrilled, humbled and I would say honoured to be receiving this award,” she said.
Mosca immigrated to Canada in 2006 as an international student and studied at the University of New Brunswick’s Saint John campus. She studied agricultural engineering in Iran and completed business studies while at UNB.
From there, she went into certified management accounting while also working on her executive Master of Business Administration. She graduated from the CMA and the MBA program in 2012-13.
“When you study accounting, it just opens your world to a broader board,” she said, adding you have a good financial background to do many different things.
Mosca said when she moved, she had to start anew in a way, and she thinksĀ her passion is one of the things that makes her stand out.
She will be presented with the award in April at the 2020 CPA New Brunswick Convocation.
