That coffee you grab on the way to work this week will help a child go camping, keep a senior citizen active and help a parent cover the cost of daycare.
Java Moose and the Saint John YMCA teaming up in a special fundraiser to help the Strong Communities campaign.
It ensures everyone can use Y services and programs no matter their financial situation.
Fund Development Coordinator Jennifer Yeomans says the blend will be available until February 24th.
“We could help someone have the opportunity to go to day camp or overnight camp at Camp Glenburn. It can help families with support for childcare costs,” Yeomans said.
Yeomans says they are running the Active After School Multi-Sport program for grades 4 and 5 students at Centennial and Princess Elizabeth schools through the Strong Communities campaign.
“The students come here after school and they get a healthy snack. They are in the gym with Tim and Peter. They are learning how to play cricket. They are learning basketball, they are learning soccer, they are doing swimming,” Yeomans said.
She says Glen Falls School will also be added to this program.

The 2020 goal for the Strong Communities campaign is $425,000.
That is $75,000 higher than last year but, Yeomans points out “the need is higher.”
The special coffee blend from Java Moose is available at Saint John locations and in Rothesay until February 24th.
