Family Day is a statutory holiday in New Brunswick, so expect a number of stores and businesses to be closed Monday.
Provincial government offices will be closed. Most grocery stores and pharmacies will also be closed, including the City Market.
Because Family Day is not a federal holiday, Canada Post offices are open and mail delivery will take place as scheduled.
If you’re unsure if something is open Monday, it’s best to call ahead.
Saint John Transit will follow its holiday schedule. There will be no Comex service.
Garbage and compost follows its regular schedule.
Community centre hours may vary.
If you’re looking for something to do with your family Monday, the city will be hosting a Family Day skate at all four of its public arenas:
- Hilton Belyea Arena – 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Charles Gorman Arena – 2:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.
- Stewart Hurley Arena – 1:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.
- Peter Murray Arena – 2:45 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Free hot chocolate will also be served.
