A six-day strike by faculty and librarians at Mount Allison University in Sackville, N.B., ended Saturday.
Tentative agreements have been reached between the university and the Mount Allison Faculty Association (MAFA).
Full- and part-time faculty and librarians returned to work Saturday. Classes are set to resume Monday.
“This was a challenging round of negotiations, but our striking members stayed strong and united in their determination to achieve a settlement at the bargaining table,” said Matt Litvak, president of the MAFA, in a statement.
The strike is over. MAFA and the employer have reached tentative agreements for the full-time and part-time bargaining units. Ratification votes are scheduled for later this week.

Details of the agreements will not be made public until they are shared with the membership and voted on, said the association.
Among the issues during the bargaining process were accommodation for faculty and librarians with disabilities, job security and compensation for part-time faculty and librarians, workload, and resources for the academic mission.
Faculty and librarians walked off the job at 12:01 a.m. Monday, leading to the suspension of classes.
