A man is facing several charges including flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle following a chase stretching from the Minto-area to the Kingston Peninsula.
Around 9:15 a.m. last Thursday, Minto RCMP responded to a report of a theft of fuel from a gas station on Route 670 in Ripples, N.B.
Police later determined the pickup was reported stolen from the Richibucto-area on January 26th.
When the pickup truck left the gas station, the business owners followed in another vehicle.
It was repeatedly struck by the pickup truck but no one was injured.
The New Brunswick RCMP’s Tactical Traffic Enforcement Unit attempted to pull the pickup truck over but the driver refused to stop.
Officers followed the vehicle before losing sight of it in the Hampton area.
RCMP members from West District RCMP, Southeast District RCMP, the RCMP’s Police Dog Services and the RCMP helicopter all took part in the search.
The pickup truck was eventually located in the Kingston area and two people were arrested nearby.
Several items police think were stolen from the Southeast region of the province were also recovered.
