Discount airline Swoop has announced it will soon be flying out of the Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport.
The Westjet-subsidiary is expanding service on the east coast with flights out of its hub in Hamilton, Ontario.
Swoop will also be flying to Charlottetown and St. John’s, Newfoundland.
The new seasonal service will begin in June when the airline receives its tenth plane and run until October.
The flight between Hamilton and Moncton will run four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
“We are absolutely delighted to have Swoop serve our market and that they have selected the Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport as their New Brunswick destination partner,” said Bernard LeBlanc, Airport Authority president and CEO. “A low-cost carrier like Swoop will offer new travel opportunities for our community and this will ultimately benefit not only this region, but the Province of New Brunswick as a whole.”
Swoop says it keeps prices low by offering a base fare that starts with just a seat, giving travellers the ability to add things they want.
