President Donald Trump is responding to Iran’s missile attacks on a U.S. military base.
Trump opened up his address saying he will never let Iran threaten American lives.
“As long as I’m President of the United States, Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. No Americans were harmed in last night’s attack by the Iranian regime. We suffered no casualties and only minimal damage to bases,” he said.
Iran’s missile strike was a response to a United States drone strike that killed an Iranian general. Trump called Qasem Soleimani responsible for some of the worst atrocities.
Trump went on to say the world needs to take action against Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
“The time has come for the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Russia and China need to recognize this reality. They must now break away from the remnants of the Iran deal. We must work together toward making a deal with Iran that makes the world safer and more peaceful,” he said.
