A number of Quebec Major Junior Hockey League players swapped teams ahead of Monday’s trade deadline.
In Saint John, the Sea Dogs have traded forward Alexis Belisle to the Victoriaville Tigres in exchange for a sixth-round pick next year, and a 10th-round pick in 2022.
The 17-year-old was drafted to the QMJHL in the third round in 2018.
Sea Dogs goalie Tommy DaSilva has been traded to the Gatineau Olympiques in exchange for their 10th-round pick in 2022. He was drafted to the league in 2017 in the second round.
In mid-December, Saint John acquired forward Jeffrey Durocher from the Rimouski Océanic, along with the team’s first-round pick in 2022, their second-round pick in 2020, and a third-round pick in 2022.
In exchange, the Sea Dogs sent team captain Nicolas Guay, along with their first-round pick in 2020 and a third-round pick in 2022 to the Océanic.
Elsewhere, Jared McIsaac, formerly of the Halifax Mooseheads, has been traded to the Moncton Wildcats. The defenceman was part of the gold-medal winning Team Canada during the World Juniors.
The QMJHL trade period closed at 1 p.m. Monday.
