Police say the deaths of a woman and a child in Rothesay were the result of a murder-suicide.
The Kennebecasis Regional Police Force was called to a Sierra Avenue apartment building on Monday morning.
Officers found the bodies of Louise Caissie-Laflamme, 43, and her seven-year-old daughter.
“The investigation has determined that the child’s death was the result of a homicide, and that the woman then died as a result of a self-inflicted injury,” said Insp. Anika Becker in a news release Thursday.
“Due to the circumstances, police do not anticipate any charges being laid,” she said.
Police originally called the deaths suspicious and said they were not looking for any suspects.
Investigators are still asking anyone with information to contact the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force or Crime Stoppers.
