New or gently-used coats, mittens and scarves are wanted for a national fundraising drive.
Sleep Country’s “Give A Coat To A Kid Campaign” is underway until Sunday, November 24th, 2019.
Sleep Expert Jennifer Palk says last year’s campaign was very successful.
“Last year we collected 125 locally so, we would definitely like to increase that. Across Sleep Country we collected 6000 coats in 2018,” Palk said.
Palk says the coats, mitts and scarves that are donated stay in the community.
“They go to the charitable organizations that disperse them. In Saint John, it’s mostly the Salvation Army that collects them,” Palk said.
Coats can be dropped off at the Sleep Country at 15 Hubert Street, Saint John, N.B.
It’s open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
