Federal election campaigning didn’t take a break for Thanksgiving.
After the leader of the NDP said he could work with the Liberals in a coalition to oppose the Conservatives, Jagmeet Singh is shying away from continuing that discussion.
Fielding multiple questions about a possible partnership, Singh maintains his criticism of the Liberals.
“Liberals about saying whatever it takes in an election, in a campaign to win the votes of people so they can stay in power. They don’t really want to make things better. They’re not really prepared to take the bold action that people need.”
Earlier in the day, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau wouldn’t directly questions about a coalition, saying the NDP were no match for the Conservatives.
“The middle class deserves better than Andrew Scheer’s reckless cuts. And the only way to stop these Conservative cuts is to vote Liberal, because just like the NDP couldn’t stop Stephen Harper or [Ontario PC Premier] Doug Ford, they can’t stop Andrew Scheer.”
Green Party Leader Elizabeth May spent the weekend in Ashcroft, B.C. with her family.
Andrew Scheer spoke in Winnipeg, listing his priorities for his first 100 days if he’s elected.
