It is time to get ready for another season of university football in Saint John.
The UNB Saint John Seawolves are gearing up for their home opener on Saturday.
Barry Ogden, the team’s general manager, said they have a really exciting team this year.
“We’ve got a really good coaching staff and we’ve got really, really nice players in terms of attitude and everything,” said Ogden.
The team is still in a rebuilding phase, Ogden said, but they have a lot of really talented guys.
He said the Seawolves are always looking for more people to join the team.
“Saint John has the lowest number of post-secondary students in all the Atlantic cities, so our numbers in that 17 to 24 age group in Saint John, we’re losing so many young people, and it’s one of the reasons we started the team.”
Ogden said anyone in the community is welcome to sign up — not just university students.
The Seawolves will host the Dalhousie Tigers at the Canada Games Stadium at 1 p.m. Saturday.
