Police say a 35-year-old woman from Saint John died in Tuesday morning’s head-on crash on Highway 7.
RCMP Cpl. Jullie Rogers-Marsh said the collision happened near Petersville Hill shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Police believe the woman’s car, which was travelling northbound, crossed the centre line and struck a pickup truck hauling equipment.
The woman, who was the only person in the car, died at the scene. The four people in the truck were not hurt.
A caller to our newsroom said smoke from the crash scene could be seen from two kilometres away.
The vehicles were in the ditch along the northbound side of the highway but debris covered lanes in both directions.
Route 7 near #PetersvilleHill is now open.
