A 64-year-old man from Grand Bay-Westfield, N.B., has been charged with possession of child pornography following an investigation by the RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit that started earlier this year.
On Wednesday, a search warrant was executed at a home in the town and a man was arrested at the scene.
Robert Whiting appeared in Saint John Provincial Court on Thursday where he was charged with possession of child pornography.

He will be held in custody until his next scheduled court appearance on August 23, 2019.
The New Brunswick RCMP’s ICE Unit includes members from Saint John and Kennebecasis Regional Police Forces, along with the RCMP’s Digital Forensic Services, the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre.
Members of the Grand Bay-Westfield RCMP detachment were also involved in the investigation.
