The Codiac RCMP recently launched a ‘positive ticketing’ initiative to reward kids for good behaviour.
Constable Christy Elliott says officers will be on the look-out for youths who choose to wear a helmet.
“It’s just a way for us to reward kids who are choosing to wear a helmet for any form of active transportation, whether that’s on a skateboard or a scooter or bicycle,” says Constable Elliott
Tickets can then be filled out and brought to the Codiac RCMP detachment or one of the community libraries for a chance at winning a bicycle.
Elliott says boxes will also be placed in schools for tickets to be placed in for the draw.
Three bicycles, one for each community will be drawn during the third week of September.
