Former Brunswick news editor Patrick Brethour returned to the witness stand Friday in a wrongful dismissal case at the Moncton Law Courts.
Al Hogan, a former managing editor for the Times & Transcript, is suing the Irving-owned newspaper and is being represented by Scott Ellsworth.
During Ellsworth’s cross-examination of Brethour, he stated Hogan deleted key parts of an email in an attempt to mislead him.
Hogan was terminated by Brunswick News after its investigation into a 2013 fishing trip former assistant managing editor Murray Guy took to the government-owned Larry’s Gulch fishing lodge.
Court resumes next Thursday as Brunswick News lawyer Catherine Lahey is expected to call Jamie Irving, the vice-president of Brunswick News, to the stand.
