A few volunteers are needed to help clean up the Black Beach Trail in the Musquash Estuary Reserve and the Split Rock Trail.
Kathryn Morse of the Nature Conservancy of Canada says for National Trails Day they will have volunteers picking up garbage and plastic that collected over the winter.
“We would love it if 8 to 10 people would sign up and come out with us to replace trail markers, clear some brush, help out re-route a trail out there,” Morse said.
Volunteers should wear boots or sneakers as it could be wet in spots.
Morse tells us the Nature Conservancy of Canada will provide everything volunteers need including bug repellant and garbage bags.
“This is the first event of our conservation volunteers program season. We have a number of other volunteer events throughout the summer and fall that people can get involved in.” Morse said.
