The town of Grand Bay-Westfield will be organizing a roadside pickup for flood debris this month.
The pickup will include sandbags, demolition debris from homes and debris that washed on to properties by flood waters. Appliances, furniture, carpeting and insulation will also be accepted.
The town says debris must be on the roadside on the scheduled pick up dates and time.
Contractors will not be entering private property to remove debris nor will they be returning to properties to collect additional items that were not within the right-of-way at the time of scheduled roadside pickup.
Residents needing roadside pick-up are asked to register with the Town Office. Forms are available online, or in hard copy at the Town Office.
Registration and a waiver form must be completed by May 10th to be eligible.
The town notes this special pick up is for flood debris only; regular household waste is not being accepted.
