The Musquash Fire Deparment had to deal with a nasty grass fire that threatened a church in Lepreau on Monday afternoon.
They were called to the area at 3:47 PM on Monday and found a fully involved grass fire just a few feet away from the rear of St. Margaret’s Anglican Church and some neighbouring homes.
Sixteen fire fighters battled the blaze which made its way into a the nearby woods before being contained.
They stayed on scene and doused any potential hot spots that might flare up.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and the area was closed for burning at the time.
