A 51-year-old woman from Eel Ground First Nation has been killed in a head-on crash on Highway 126 near the intersection of Route 515, about half an hour north of Moncton.
St. Paul Fire Chief Dave Gallant says a car and a truck were involved in the collision just before 5 p.m. Thursday.
When firefighters arrived, Gallant says a man and woman were trapped in the truck which was on fire.
He says bystanders helped put it out with fire extinguishers.

The man and woman, both in their late 70s, had to be extricated from the truck and were taken to hospital with injuries.
The woman driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
RCMP believe the crash occurred when the truck crossed the centre line and collided with the car.
The highway was closed for several hours Thursday night and traffic had to be rerouted.
