90,000 members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada have been negotiating for nine months but they still do not have a deal.
The departments involved in this dispute include the Treasury Board, the Canada Revenue Agency, Parks Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
Some local members held a small protest on Thursday near the office of Saint John-Rothesay MP Wayne Long.
Carol Osborne of the Union of Safety and Justice Employees says Justin Trudeau pledged to respect the public service members while on the campaign trail, but he has not kept that promise.
“We would really like him to abide by that and ensure that our contract is settled,” Osborne said.

Issues include how long the process is taking, the desire for a fair deal and concerns about the Pheonix payroll system.
PSAC members have an advocate in Long, who agreed to speak with the Treasury Board president in a meeting set for next week when he returns to Ottawa.
“I’m going to go back to Ottawa with a clear message from the leadership of the Public Service Alliance that they need a contract and they need to be treated fairly,” Long said.
Members of PSAC are also looking for improvements to the work-life balance and less contract work.
