The 21st annual Teddy Waste Awards, which celebrate the worst in government waste from the past year have been handed out by the Canadian Tax Payers Federation.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took the federal award for that $1.6 million eight-day trip to India.
BCc Legislature Clerk and Sergeant at arms got the provincial award spending $13,000 for a wood splitter and trailer.
The municipal award went to the City of Vancouver Parks Board for $50,000 to invite local residents to email trees and hire local artists to respond as trees.
Former governor general Adrienne Clarkson took the Lifetime Achievement award for billing taxpayers more than $100,000 per year almost every year since leaving the post in 2005.
Some of the more interesting nominees, The rural municipality of Clayton Saskatchewan for spending $340,000 on a bridge that collapsed the day it opened. The Town of Vulcan , Alberta spent $4,000 on Star Trek Uniforms for its councillors.
