The leader of the provincial Green Party has issued a statement regarding the death of Peter deMarsh of Taymouth in Sunday’s air disaster in Ethiopia.
I was shocked to hear that Peter deMarsh was among those who died in the the Ethiopian Air crash. My deepest sympathy to Jean and their son Luke. Good- bye old friend. You gave so much of your self in service to the common good.

David Coon says deMarsh was a fearless advocate for rural families and communities that depend on the production of small woodlots for the well-being.
Coon says he first met Peter in the 1980s when he worked for the Conservation Council of New Brunswick.
He says he learned so much from him about the role woodlot owners play, as an integral part of their communities, in the forest sector as stewards, local employers and generators of community wealth.
Peter deMarsh was President of the International Family Forest Alliance and was headed to Kenya when the plane crashed.
