Premier Brian Gallant is praising New Brunswick businesses for achieving record economic growth in 2015.
A report from Statistics Canada revised the provincial GDP growth for last year to 2.3%.
This is the largest gain since 2004, and significantly higher than the total combined growth of 0.9% between 2007 and 2014.
Additionally, the province’s real GDP growth was the third highest among the provinces that year.
With that result, and the expectations of this year, and next, the provincial economy is on track to grow 3.5% over a three year period.
inance Minister Cathy Rogers says the real GDP growth forecast for 2016 is 0.4%.
She says that’s reasonable, and prudent and is consistent with the private sector consensus.
