Poley Mountain near Sussex is opening today for a new season.
The ski resort has a good base of snow and snowmaking operations have been underway for about a week now.
Skiers and snowboarders will be able to hit about one-quarter of the trails.
General manager Bill Anderson says the colder weather is a bonus this year given how mild it was last December.
Anderson says it’s great to get such an early start to the season since it was just after Christmas before Poley Mountain opened last year.
Anderson says the resort will be closed on Monday and Tuesday but will be up and running again by Wednesday for the rest of the Christmas season.
Small change in our hours of operation for this weekend. We will open at 9am and be closing at 4pm. Thank You!
