As consumers relish their Black Friday buys and look ahead to Cyber Monday sales, it’s also time to start thinking about Giving Tuesday.
That’s the day where people join together to support charities.
Started in the US in 2012, their website now lists over 4700 partners across Canada.

Liz Finney with Bonny Lea Farm in Chester, Nova Scotia says the idea behind Giving Tuesday is simple.
“So you’ve gone and you’ve been consumeristic on the Friday and then on Tuesday you get to redeem yourself and feel a lot better by giving to charity.”
Finney explains why they got involved with Giving Tuesday.
“We’re hoping to reach a bit of the younger set and build on our very strong and loyal donor base by reaching people in other ways beyond what we’ve done in the past.”
The Giving Tuesday webpage lists all the organizations you can support on November 29.
