When it was announced Las Vegas was approved to get an NHL expansion team it left a lot of Canadian hockey fans disappointed.
Hockey Night in Canada host Ron MacLean admits he was a little upset when he heard Quebec wasn’t chosen.
MacLean says the province and city of Quebec invested close to $400 million dollars to build a rink, then sold it back to Quebecor for $33 million.
He says everybody did their part.
MacLean says Quebec might get an NHL team down the road at some point, or possibly be an ideal destination of a team that has to relocate.
He understands why Las Vegas was chosen because of the size of the divisions and conferences, but MacLean still believes Quebec deserves to have a team.
