The jury at the second degree murder trial of 36 year old Matthew Tucker heard more of a video interview he had with the RCMP after his arrest. Tucker is charged in the shooting death of his mother, 53 year old Dorothy Tucker of Oak Haven, outside St. Stephen.
During the course of the interview, Tucker is told blood was found in his house and he says “Oh My God” and asks where the blood was because he didn’t see any.
Tucker says he lives his mother and starts to cry, asking where is she. He goes on to tell police he wouldn’t have a place to stay if it wasn’t for her and she’s the only thing he’s got. She was supposed to pick up his children after school for his birthday party. He later tells the police officer he wants to curl up in a ball and cry.
When asked by police whether he would give a sample of his DNA, Tucker replies by saying a guy he talked to told him not to give any samples. He also asks “are you telling me my mother’s dead. I hope she’s not dead”.
Towards the end of the interview, Tucker is told police investigators believe he’s responsible for his mother’s disappearance. At this point, her body still had not been found. They also tell him blood was found on plastic in one of the vehicles parked where Tucker lives.
