A Mountie testifying at the second degree murder trial of Matthew Tucker about two interactions with him on November 11, 2014.
Constable Jeremy Piper responded to a call about a car running with its lights on located on the Oak Haven Road just after midnight.
He knocked on the driver side window startling a sleeping Matthew Tucker.
They spoke for about 20 minutes and then Piper had to respond to a missing person call.
Constable Piper and another officer later went to Dorothy Tucker’s home. Matthew was there and allowed the officers inside. In his search, Piper found drops of blood in Dorothy’s bedroom.
Matthew Tucker was then detained and put in a police vehicle.
Senior officers were then called in so the evidence at the scene could be secured.
The jury was shown pictures of the sheeting. In one, the plastic looks saturated with blood. There is also blood on the vehicle’s bumper.
