More businesses can track their productivity with a new tool from the Business Development Bank of Canada.
It’s quick and free and allows businesses a chance to find new ways to improve their productivity.
Chief Economist Pierre Cleroux says it has 5 criteria with the first one rating overall efficiency with a score from zero to 100.
He says you get the benefit of your own number and the numbers for the sector and it tells you where you are doing well and where you need to improve.
A survey of 1500 small and mid-sized businesses in Canada found 8 in 10 entrepreneurs believe it’s important to measure and benchmark productivity but only 46 per cent are formally do that.
