The New Brunswick Progressive Conservatives believe a lot of people in the province are fed up with the current Liberal government.
PC party president Jason Stephen says that’s why a new record of more than 7,000 delegates have signed up to take part in the upcoming leadership convention.
Stephen says frustration with the Gallant government is also why a large field of candidates are seeking the Tory leadership.
“We’ve got a great field of seven quality contestants as well as shortcomings from this government. All it seems to do is raise taxes and not grow the economy or create jobs,” he notes.
The PC leadership convention is being held on October 21 and 22 in Fredericton.
Voting for a new leader takes place on the second day at UNB’s Aitken Centre and the process is expected to take several hours.
