There will be a second public hearing on a proposed 65-unit condo development at the corner of Hillcrest Drive and Hampton Road in Rothesay.
The complex would include two 24-unit condo buildings, four 3-unit buildings, two 2-unit buildings, and one 1-unit building.
Developer Andrew McKay revised his proposal and Rothesay council voted in favour to restarting the process from scratch.
Rothesay Mayor Dr. Nancy Grant says council felt it was best to start over to allow for as much public input as possible.
The revisions from A.E. McKay Builder’s include plans to place the 24 unit condos 30 meters further back from the highway and lowering the number of garden homes in the proposed project from 17 to 12.
The revisions also include plans to double the amount of parking from 24 to 48 spaces.
Grant says the Planning Advisory Committee will take a look at the revisions on November 7th and the tentative date for the next public hearing will be held on November 8th.
She says there have been a lot of people both for and against the project, and says she’s interested to see how the public reacts to the revisions.
Rothesay council did not make a decision on rezoning the land, which is currently zoned single family residential.
