It was a busy long weekend for Saint John police with taxi robberies, thefts, domestic assaults and more.
Media Officer Chuck Breen tells us officers were called to a WH Smith and Company Jewellers in Brunswick Square.
He says officers were told a man and a woman were in the store looking at diamonds and after they left, the staff noticed they had taken a
a $10,000 diamond.
The Major Crime Unit is looking into this theft.
Officers also responded to an early morning domestic dispute on Anglin Drive between a man and a woman.
The man hit her in the face several times and grabbed her by the throat and when she yelled for help another person stepped in and the husband left.
The 40 year old man returned home later and was arrested for assault and the violation of a court order.
